I have clients who get on the scale and are so bummed because they only lost a pound. A pound is still a pound and it is STILL better than being up a pound.

My favorite thing to do is grab that blob of fake fat and slam it down on my desk...

And then I say, "You just lost that." The client is usually grossed out at first but then feels better about "only a pound".

A pound of fat is still a pretty big deal especially if you consistently shed pound after pound over a period of time. Just keep going in the right direction. You're on the path to weight loss and on that path you may stray at times, but you know how to get back on the path. At the end is a vision of a skinnier healthier you!

So let's look at what a pound of fat really is...

There are 3500 calories in a pound of fat. If you reduced your caloric intake by 500 calories for 7 days, you would lose a pound. Of course, other things make you burn calories too such as exercise.
